So these are the days! Christmas is near and suddenly there is so much to do. Buying and wrapping presents, going to kindergarten and school bazaars/plays, having a little Christmas party with colleagues and so on. The last years time flew by and I didn´t get any of that much needed Christmas spirit that is about slowing down and enjoying simple moments. So I decided to spent this years` Advent time differently. I decided to “Make Christmas”.
Luckily my dear friend and fellow instagrammer Simone (@fraeuleinsonntag) lives only ten minutes away which gave us the opportunity to meet up and start with our christmas preparations together. Simone brought a wonderful recipe of saffron knots – on a beautiful handwritten fine art postcard. We rolled pastry, lilstenend to christmas carols, had coffee and did enjoy the wonderful scent our saffron knots spread all over the apartement whilst baking.
We also made some wonderful wreaths – traditional ones and asymmetrical, more modern ones. We just bought lots of greenery that would dry nicely and built up the wreaths by adding branches in the same directions and waving in some floral wire to stabilize them. This way we were able to keep them all narrow and filigree to give them a delicate look.

We kind of made our own version of these saffron knots by life&thyme and played around a little. Please try – everso delicious!
